New Zealand Journey Information

Greetings Everyone

We are pleased to make available the complete New Zealand Journey 2007 itinerary. You may download a printable version of the brochure (880kb) in PDF format (Adobe Reader is available for free download). This letter includes some useful information in addition to the brochure. As the time for the journey comes closer, we will be sending you even more information about New Zealand and what to expect on your trip.

Prices

New Zealand Journey price

$5,385 per person, double occupancy; $905 per person, single supplement. The Journey is round trip from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Optional Extension to Australia price

$2,990 per person double occupancy; $428 per person, single supplement. The Australian Journey extension is from Auckland to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

We reserve the right to adjust the tour price based on fluctuations in exchange rate, airline costs, or other relevant factors. Air New Zealand arrival and departure times are subject to change. This is an independent package price and a breakdown of individual charges is not available.

Journey price includes

  • Journey escorts—Jane Fournier and Nola Fournier
  • International and New Zealand domestic airfares
  • All airport and hotel transfers by private motorcoach with experienced driver
  • All motorcoach travel
  • Accommodations on a shared twin/double room basis
  • Meals as indicated plus daily breakfasts
  • Farm stay one night, including dinner and breakfast
  • Sightseeing as indicated
  • Travel protection plan
  • 12.5% New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST)

Journey price does not include

  • Any items of personal nature
  • Telephone and other added room charges
  • Meals other than those indicated in the itinerary
  • Shipping or duty costs of items sent or brought home
  • Optional sightseeing tours and events
  • Excess airline baggage charges
  • Passport fees
  • Transportation between home and departure city
  • New Zealand departure tax, currently NZ$25.00

Air Transportation

Pricing is based on the current international airfare on Air New Zealand for travel Los Angeles/Auckland/Los Angeles. Any modifications to this ticket will result in a price change. We regret that it is not possible to use frequent flier miles for this journey but frequent flier miles may be accrued to your United Airlines or Star Alliance Partner frequent flyer account.

If you arrange your own travel between your home airport and Los Angeles, please make sure your travel agent knows that your tickets are connecting with International Group flights and make sure that your tickets can be changed if necessary. International flight times can be changed at short notice. Â This can create problems for those with tickets that did not allow changes, such as some of the low-cost fares available through the Internet. Newmans South Pacific Vacations will also arrange travel between your home airport and Los Angeles if you wish.

Passports and Visas

Passports are required for all visitors to New Zealand and must be valid for at least three months beyond the date you intend leaving the country. Visitors must hold fully-paid onward or return tickets to a country that you have permission to enter. Please refer any other requests to a New Zealand embassy or consulate.

United States and Canadian citizens who fulfill the above conditions do not need visas for entry into New Zealand. Visas are required only from visitors intending to work, study, or seek medical treatment; or those who are sponsored by a friend, relative, or organization. You need to apply for a visa only if you wish to stay more than three months. If you are including an Australian extension, a visa is required for entry into Australia. Your Australian visa will be arranged for you by Newmans South Pacific Vacations.

Meals

A complete cooked breakfast is included daily; lunches and dinners are included as outlined in the itinerary.

Travel Insurance

A comprehensive travel protection plan is included in the journey price. Unexpected flight delays, illness, and bad weather may result in extra expenses or cause you to have concerns about being able to participate in the journey. Travel insurance is one way to mitigate such risks.

The plan is provided by CSA and our travel agent, Newmans South Pacific Vacations and applies only to those arrangements booked directly through our agent. On receiving your journey registration a brochure outlining coverages and conditions will be sent to you.

Gratuities

Standard gratuities and taxes are included for all services noted in the itinerary. New Zealanders do not depend on tips or gratuities for their income, and do not expect them for normal services.

Reservations, Deposit and Payment Schedule

Reservations and payments are not being accepted at this time. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Refunds and Cancellations

All cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee as follows: $100 for cancellations made on or before January 5, 2007 and $400 for cancellations made between January 5 and February 2, 2007. After February 2, if your place cannot be filled, the refund is determined by the amount of land and air payment that can be recovered. This is a specially negotiated airfare and has a cancellation penalty after ticketing of 50% of the airfare. Cancellations must be in writing. After commencement of the journey, no refund will be provided for any unused services. If you make changes to any portion of this itinerary after departure, such changes will be at your own expense. If The Interweave Press® New Zealand Journey cancels the journey, all moneys will be refunded in full.

Creative Fibre Festival

The New Zealand Creative Fibre Festival is New Zealand’s national event for spinners, weavers, knitters and others interested in woolcrafts. Because New Zealand is a small country, the Festival is smaller and more intimate than similar events in United States; and with a local flavour that’s distinctly New Zealand. The Festival is currently finalising the slate of classes and seminars for the 2007 Festival and details will be available on their web site at www.creativefibre.org.nz early in October. Festival registration and class fees are not included in the published Journey price but we will facilitate the registration process. Forms may be downloaded from the Creative Fibre web site or we can send these to you. Classes fill early, so for the best selection, fax your festival registrations to us as soon as possible at (406) 442-7217.

Responsibility

The Interweave Press® New Zealand Journey and Newmans South Pacific Vacations act only as agents for suppliers identified on your itinerary. We exercise every care in making arrangements for transportation, hotels, restaurants, sightseeing and any other service in connection with the itinerary of the individual tour member who, by acceptance of such, agrees that Interweave Press® New Zealand Journey and Newmans South Pacific Vacations shall not be liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity, liability, or expense to person or property due to any defect in any vehicle or through acts of default by any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company, or persons providing or rendering any of the services included in the tour. Additionally, responsibility is not accepted for losses or expenses due to sickness, weather, strikes, wars, natural disasters, or other such causes. The sole responsibility of any airline used is limited to that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket. Interweave Press® New Zealand Journey and Newmans South Pacific Vacations reserve the right to make changes in the published itinerary whenever, in their sole judgment, conditions warrant, or if they are deemed necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the tour participants. Interweave Press® New Zealand Journey reserves the right to decline to accept any person as a participant, or to require any participant to withdraw from the journey at any time, when such action is determined by the journey escort to be in the best interest of the health, safety, and general welfare of the journey group, or of the individual participant.
